Oregon House District 16
I have been a registered Pacific Green voter for 25 years. I have been a Green candidate for US Congress 6 times and for Benton County Commissioner twice. I served on the Corvallis City Council for 6 terms (12 years). I have been active in the community by serving as an officer or board member in NAACP, Corvallis Living Wage Campaign, Mid Valley Health Care Advocates, United Campus Ministry at Westminster House (OSU), Mid Valley Pastoral Counseling Center, Corvallis Environmental Center and Corvallis Historic Auto Club.
I intend to run on a platform of
1) State acquisition of Northwest Natural – with the intention of a controlled transition to a clean electric energy economy, phasing out fossil fuels and
2) ending the tax-holiday – overturning the property tax limitations of Measures 5 and 50, and eliminating the “kicker.”; and eliminating the restriction of gasoline taxes to road construction.
