We, the Pacific Green Party Unity Coalition, demand a halt to all US aid for Ukraine (military, economic, intelligence, etc.) and call for a ceasefire to end the Ukraine War. We support HB 10218 ‘To prohibit the transfer of Army Tactical Missile Systems to Ukraine and for other purposes.’ The escalation of this conflict risks igniting a nuclear war between the US and Russia resulting in global annihilation.
Providing Ukraine with ATACMS to strike deep inside Russia makes the United States an active participant in the war since US operators must be on the ground. Russia’s Oreshnik hypersonic missile is unstoppable by missile defense systems. NATO bases and Western cities are at risk of becoming targets of retaliatory strikes by Russia. The US has a first strike policy. Some military analysts believe the US can win a nuclear war. This can only be characterized as delusional, suicidal thinking. This deranged military doctrine ignores the global consequences of nuclear winter and mass extinction. Nuclear wars can not be won and should never be fought.
